Pi Hackathon Guideline and Agenda: June 28th — Sept 30th
Updated Pi Hackathon Agenda
Note: We’ve updated the Pi Hackathon agenda both to reflect new extended deadlines and to include more events and resources for teams and developers. This updated plan both allows more time for developers to work on their apps and provides more events and resources to facilitate their team building and app development..
You can participate in the Hackathon through the Brainstorm app in the Pi home screen.
If participants have any questions about the Pi Hackathon, please join the Pi Ecosystem Development Discord also through the Brainstorm app and share questions you may have.
Pi Hackathon Guideline and Agenda: June 28th — Sept 30th
Pi’s first Hackathon is the first event for our developer community. The #BuildPi2gether Hackathon is a collaborative event where Pioneers & developers join to build the future of Pi together. The event will span from the weeks of June 28 to Sept 30.
There are two categories of apps to build:
- Ecosystem apps — Apps that improve the Pi ecosystem & functions.
- Business apps — Apps that serve a consumer or commerce product.
Prizes:
In total, Pi Network will award $100,000 USD and 100,000 Pi to top team projects. Based on placement, winners in each category (Ecosystem or Business apps) will receive:
- 1st prize = US$20,000 + 20,000 Pi
- 2nd prize = US$15,000 + 15,000 Pi
- 3rd prize = US$10,000 + 10,000 Pi
- Honorary mentions (5 winners) = US$1000 each + 1,000 Pi
Judges and the Pioneer community will evaluate projects. Winners will be decided by the Pi Core Team based on these ratings.
Winning Pi Hackathon teams have full responsibility on how they will handle their treasury & prize distribution. They will need to designate one account to receive the prize.
